Competition framework
NO RANDOM DRAWING. NO LOTTERY. NO RAFFLE. NO CHANCE-BASED WINNER SELECTION.
StarDrop is intended to operate as a skill- and merit-based competition sponsored and administered by MedaStaré Inc. These Master Rules must be read together with the applicable Cycle Annex and any jurisdiction-specific addendum.
Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of StarDrop and is not involved in administration, judging, winner selection or Prize fulfillment.
1. SPONSOR
The sponsor and administrator of StarDrop is:
MedaStaré Inc. 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305 Newark, New Castle County Delaware 19713 United States
Support: [INSERT OFFICIAL SUPPORT EMAIL]
Official Rules: [INSERT PERMANENT RULES INDEX URL]
Cycle-specific Rules: [INSERT IMMUTABLE VERSIONED URL]
MedaStaré is responsible for the administration of StarDrop subject to applicable law.
No third-party platform becomes a sponsor merely because StarDrop or MedaStaré is distributed, promoted or accessible through that platform.
2. DEFINITIONS
For these Rules:
“StarDrop” means the applicable skill- and merit-based competition.
“MedaStaré” or “Sponsor” means MedaStaré Inc.
“Star Membership” means MedaStaré's broader paid digital membership experience.
“MedArena” means the MedaStaré environment in which eligible competitions, challenges, rankings and related experiences may be made available.
“MedaVision” means MedaStaré's automated technology used for preliminary assessment, scoring, ranking and integrity-related analysis as described in these Rules.
“Entry” means an eligible submission made through the designated Competition flow.
“Entrant” means a person satisfying the applicable eligibility requirements who submits an Entry.
“Competition Cycle” or “Cycle” means a specific StarDrop competition period.
“Cycle Annex” means the document containing variable terms applicable to a specific Cycle.
“Judging Panel” means the identified human judges responsible for final manual evaluation.
“Potential Winner” means an Entrant whose ranking is subject to verification.
“Verified Winner” means a Potential Winner whose applicable eligibility requirements have been successfully verified.
“Prize Recipient” means the person legally entitled and able to receive a particular Prize.
A Competition Winner and a Prize Recipient may, in limited circumstances expressly permitted by these Rules, be different persons.
3. STAR MEMBERSHIP IS A DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
MedaStaré Star is a paid digital membership experience providing access to a collection of MedaStaré technology, services and product features.
MedArena is one feature within that broader membership experience.
StarDrop may be made available as a Competition experience within MedArena.
MedaStaré does not impose a separate StarDrop ticket price, wager, stake or Competition-specific entry surcharge.
Subscription fees compensate MedaStaré for the broader digital membership experience and the technology and services provided through that membership, including applicable computational, artificial-intelligence, moderation, integrity, storage and Competition-administration resources.
Where applicable, these resources include the operation of MedaVision.
The subscription does not purchase:
- Competition points;
- higher ranking;
- preferential judging;
- a guaranteed shortlist position;
- a Winner designation;
- a Prize;
- additional probability of winning; or
- influence over the Judging Panel.
4. PRIZES ARE SEPARATELY FUNDED
StarDrop Prizes are established separately by MedaStaré.
The applicable Prize structure and approximate retail values must be determined before the applicable Cycle opens for Entry.
Prize value will not increase or decrease according to:
- the number of Entrants;
- the number of subscribers;
- subscription revenue;
- Entry volume; or
- spending by any Entrant.
MedaStaré does not pool Entrant subscription payments to construct the Prize fund.
Prizes are funded from MedaStaré's corporate budget or another lawful Sponsor-funded source disclosed where required.
5. ELIGIBILITY
Unless a Cycle Annex states additional restrictions, an Entrant must:
- 1. be at least eighteen (18) years old;
- 2. be a lawful resident of an Activated Jurisdiction for that Cycle;
- 3. satisfy the applicable Star/MedArena access requirements;
- 4. submit an eligible Entry through the designated Competition flow;
- 5. accept the applicable Rules before submission;
- 6. provide accurate eligibility information;
- 7. comply with these Rules and applicable law; and
- 8. remain eligible through Winner verification where required.
Employees, officers and directors of MedaStaré and persons directly involved in administering or judging the applicable Competition are ineligible.
The Cycle Annex may additionally exclude their immediate family or household members where appropriate or required.
Creators, influencers, agencies or other persons specifically compensated to promote a particular StarDrop Cycle may be excluded from entering that Cycle.
MedaStaré may impose additional jurisdiction-specific eligibility requirements where required by law.
6. ACTIVATED JURISDICTIONS
StarDrop is available only in jurisdictions expressly activated by MedaStaré for the applicable Cycle.
Availability of:
MedaStaré → Star Membership → MedArena
does not automatically mean that StarDrop is available.
Likewise, availability of one MedArena Competition does not automatically mean that every MedArena Competition is available.
Each Competition and Cycle has its own geographic eligibility.
7. UNITED STATES
StarDrop may be activated in eligible U.S. states and the District of Columbia only after the applicable legal review.
The Cycle Annex must identify the jurisdictions in which that Cycle is open.
The phrase “available in the United States” must not be interpreted to mean that every U.S. state is automatically eligible.
Where a state requires an exclusion, filing, registration, bond, disclosure, structural change or other condition, MedaStaré may:
- satisfy the requirement before activation;
- modify the Competition prospectively for that jurisdiction;
- provide a jurisdiction-specific addendum; or
- keep that jurisdiction inactive.
A state does not become eligible merely because the MedaStaré application can be downloaded there.
U.S. COUNSEL MUST CONFIRM THE STATE MATRIX BEFORE EACH RELEVANT LAUNCH.
8. SINGAPORE
Singapore may be activated only after MedaStaré completes the applicable Singapore legal and regulatory review.
StarDrop is designed so that no chance-based mechanism determines qualification, shortlist placement, Winner status, Winner ranking or tie-breaking.
MedaVision performs preliminary assessment.
Final Winners are determined by the identified human Judging Panel applying published merit criteria.
Before Singapore activation, Singapore counsel must confirm, as applicable:
- Competition classification;
- paid membership treatment;
- applicable Gambling Control Act considerations;
- Prize structure and fulfillment;
- consumer disclosures;
- privacy and PDPA requirements;
- recordkeeping;
- taxation or reporting issues;
- dispute provisions; and
- any required registrations, approvals or other conditions.
If required conditions have not been completed, Singapore remains inactive for the affected Competition or Cycle.
9. FUTURE COUNTRIES AND REGIONS
StarDrop may expand to additional countries, territories, states or other jurisdictions.
A new jurisdiction may be activated only after MedaStaré completes its applicable legal and regulatory review and, where required, satisfies applicable:
- permits;
- registrations;
- licences;
- approvals;
- bonds;
- disclosures;
- tax requirements;
- privacy requirements; and
- other mandatory conditions.
New jurisdictions are activated prospectively.
Activation of a new jurisdiction does not retroactively alter completed Cycles.
A regulatory delay affecting one jurisdiction does not automatically prevent StarDrop from operating in other lawfully activated jurisdictions.
10. CYCLE ANNEX
Each Cycle must have a Cycle Annex identifying, as applicable:
- Competition ID;
- Rules version;
- Entry opening date;
- Entry closing date;
- applicable time zone;
- Activated Jurisdictions;
- eligibility variations;
- Entry limits;
- technical submission requirements;
- Prize descriptions;
- Prize values;
- Prize ranking;
- Prize fulfillment method;
- minimum participation threshold, if any;
- MedaVision criteria;
- scoring methodology;
- minimum qualifying score;
- shortlist size;
- Judging Panel;
- manual judging criteria;
- judging weights;
- tie-break procedure;
- insufficient-qualifier procedure;
- Winner notification period;
- Winner response deadline; and
- material jurisdiction-specific requirements.
No material Competition mechanic should be hidden solely in advertising copy.
11. ENTRY
Entries must be submitted through the designated MedaStaré Competition interface within the applicable Entry Period.
An Entry received:
- before opening;
- after closing;
- through an unauthorized method; or
- in violation of applicable submission requirements
may be ineligible.
MedaStaré's systems and records may be used to determine submission time, subject to correction of demonstrable technical errors.
12. RULES ACCEPTANCE
Before Entry submission, an Entrant must be given access to the applicable:
- Master Official Rules;
- Cycle Annex;
- jurisdiction-specific addendum, where applicable;
- Entry Terms; and
- relevant privacy notice.
MedaStaré may maintain evidence of acceptance including:
- Rules version;
- Rules URL;
- Competition ID;
- timestamp;
- country/jurisdiction information; and
- account identifier.
Materially amended Competition Rules should receive a new version.
Where legally or operationally appropriate, Entrants may be required to accept the new version before further participation.
13. SKILL AND MERIT — NO CHANCE
StarDrop Winners are determined through skill and merit.
The following do not determine Winner selection:
- random drawing;
- lottery;
- raffle;
- random-number generator;
- coin flip;
- random tie-break;
- public popularity;
- follower count;
- likes;
- general engagement;
- StarGift spending;
- subscription spending; or
- purchasing additional MedaStaré products.
No person may buy a higher Competition ranking.
14. MEDAVISION PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT
MedaVision performs the preliminary automated assessment stage.
MedaVision may evaluate Entry characteristics according to published Competition criteria and may also analyze indicators relevant to Competition integrity.
Depending on the applicable Competition, those indicators may include:
- duplicate content;
- materially reused content;
- prohibited manipulation;
- technical irregularities;
- suspected automation;
- submission anomalies;
- integrity signals; or
- attempted interference with the Competition system.
An automated signal does not necessarily establish misconduct.
Where appropriate, a flagged Entry may receive human review.
MedaStaré does not represent that an automated system is infallible.
15. QUALIFYING THRESHOLD — 80/100
The current StarDrop mechanic requires a minimum preliminary qualifying score of:
80 / 100
An Entry scoring below 80 does not proceed to the shortlist.
Reaching 80 does not guarantee shortlist placement, finalist status, Winner status or a Prize.
16. TOP 20 SHORTLIST
Eligible Entries meeting the minimum threshold are ranked according to the published preliminary criteria.
The twenty highest-ranked eligible Entries constitute the:
TOP 20
The Top 20 is a merit shortlist.
No Entry may be randomly added to fill an empty shortlist position.
If fewer than twenty eligible Entries satisfy the qualifying requirements, the predetermined insufficient-qualifier procedure published in the applicable Cycle Annex controls.
17. HUMAN JUDGING PANEL
MedaVision does not determine the final Winners.
The Top 20 proceeds to manual review by the named human Judging Panel.
The Panel applies the published judging criteria and weights.
The Panel determines five ranked Winners:
First Place Second Place Third Place Fourth Place Fifth Place
Judging records should identify the material basis for the ranking in accordance with MedaStaré's Competition procedures.
18. JUDGE INDEPENDENCE AND CONFLICTS
Judges must apply the published criteria.
A judge should disclose a material personal, financial or professional conflict relating to an Entry.
Where appropriate, the affected judge may be recused and replaced or the Entry may be reviewed under the predetermined conflict procedure.
No undisclosed commercial payment, personal relationship, StarGift activity, popularity metric or external pressure may replace the published judging criteria.
19. TIE-BREAKS
No tie is resolved randomly.
Any tie affecting shortlist or Winner ranking must be resolved through the predetermined skill- or merit-based tie-break hierarchy stated in the Cycle Annex.
If the first tie-break criterion remains tied, the next published merit criterion may be applied.
No drawing, lottery, coin flip or randomizer may be substituted.
20. INDICATIVE RANKINGS
Any ranking displayed before completion of final judging and verification is provisional unless expressly identified as final.
Live or provisional MedArena rankings do not create an entitlement to:
- Winner status;
- a particular final rank;
- a Prize; or
- payment.
Final results are determined only after the required judging and verification process is completed.
21. PARTICIPATION-THRESHOLD COMPETITIONS
Certain MedArena Competitions may activate only after a predetermined participation threshold is reached.
For example, a Competition may require:
3,000 eligible participants or qualifying Entries
before its competitive phase activates.
Where a threshold applies, the precise definition of the threshold must appear in the applicable Competition Annex.
The threshold is an operational activation condition only.
It does not:
- create the Prize fund;
- increase the Prize value;
- determine Winners;
- improve anyone's score;
- increase an individual's chance of winning; or
- replace judging.
If the threshold is not reached by the stated deadline, the Annex must determine in advance whether the Competition is postponed, extended where lawful, or cancelled before the competitive phase.
No random process may be used as a substitute.
22. ADDITIONAL MEDARENA COMPETITIONS
The other planned MedArena Competition formats must have their own legal and operational documentation.
As an internal operational standard, MedaStaré intends to prepare and publish the applicable Competition rules package no later than three (3) months before the scheduled Competition launch, subject to later amendments required by regulators or counsel.
The package should include, as applicable:
- Official Rules;
- Competition Annex;
- jurisdiction matrix;
- jurisdiction addenda;
- Prize terms;
- judging criteria;
- Winner procedures;
- abbreviated advertising rules;
- Entry Terms;
- privacy disclosures; and
- required regulatory information.
A Competition may be announced before every jurisdiction is activated, provided marketing clearly distinguishes planned availability from actual eligibility.
23. PRIZES
Each applicable Cycle will identify the number, description, ranking and approximate retail value of Prizes.
For the current StarDrop structure:
Five ranked Winners correspond to five ranked Prizes.
The applicable Cycle Annex must state the final Prize descriptions and values before Entry opens for that Cycle.
No Entrant acquires a right to a Prize merely by appearing in a provisional ranking.
24. NO AUTOMATIC CASH EQUIVALENT
Unless the applicable Annex expressly states otherwise, a Winner has no automatic right to demand cash instead of the stated Prize.
Prize fulfillment may include:
- direct retailer payment;
- retailer gift card;
- physical goods;
- direct travel booking;
- direct experience booking;
- approved service fulfillment; or
- another lawful method identified by MedaStaré.
Where lawful and reasonably necessary, MedaStaré may substitute a Prize with a lawful Prize of equal or greater stated value.
A substitution must not be used to reduce a Winner's entitlement arbitrarily.
25. WINNING AND PRIZE ELIGIBILITY ARE DISTINCT
Competition ranking and legal Prize eligibility are separate determinations.
A person may achieve a ranked Winner position but encounter a legal or practical restriction affecting delivery of a particular Prize.
Potential restrictions may include:
- local law;
- regulatory requirements;
- residence;
- age verification;
- sanctions;
- banking restrictions;
- tax documentation;
- retailer limitations;
- travel restrictions;
- visa restrictions;
- government approval;
- failure to provide required documentation; or
- another lawful fulfillment restriction.
Where permitted by law, a person may retain their Competition title, rank, badge or non-monetary recognition even where a particular Prize cannot lawfully be delivered.
Nothing requires MedaStaré to make an unlawful payment or unlawful Prize transfer.
26. JURISDICTION-SPECIFIC PRIZE CLEARANCE, COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE REVIEW
26.1 No Prize Is Released Before Final Clearance
A Potential Winner's Competition ranking does not, by itself, authorize immediate Prize payment, transfer, booking, shipment or other fulfillment.
Before any Prize is released, MedaStaré will conduct or arrange a reasonable compliance review based on the Verified Winner's applicable jurisdiction and the nature of the Prize. The review is intended to determine a lawful and operationally permissible method of Prize fulfillment.
The review may address identity, age, residence, Competition eligibility, applicable federal, state, national or local law, Prize restrictions, required filings or approvals, tax reporting or withholding, sanctions, banking and payment restrictions, consumer-protection requirements, travel or visa requirements, retailer or supplier restrictions, and other requirements reasonably connected to lawful Prize fulfillment.
26.2 MedaStaré Counsel and Compliance Review
MedaStaré may use its existing corporate counsel, Competition counsel, compliance professionals, accountants, tax advisers, payment providers and other qualified professional advisers in connection with Prize clearance.
Completion of judging and Winner verification establishes the applicable Competition result but is separate from final determination of the lawful method by which a Prize may be fulfilled.
26.3 Local Counsel in the Winner's Jurisdiction
Where reasonably necessary, MedaStaré may obtain advice, review or clearance from qualified local counsel or another appropriately licensed professional in the Winner's state, country, province, territory or other materially relevant jurisdiction.
For a U.S. Winner, this may include counsel qualified in or familiar with the law applicable to the Winner's state of residence and any other materially relevant U.S. jurisdiction.
For a Winner outside the United States, this may include counsel qualified in or familiar with the applicable national, state, provincial, territorial or local law.
Local review may address whether the Winner remains legally eligible to receive the Prize, whether the particular Prize may lawfully be delivered, whether special filings, approvals, permits, licences, bonds, disclosures or tax documentation apply, whether the proposed payment or fulfillment channel is permissible, and whether a lawful substitute or alternative fulfillment structure is required.
26.4 Coordinated Review
Where appropriate, MedaStaré's existing counsel and relevant local counsel may coordinate their review. MedaStaré may reasonably rely on advice from one or more qualified legal or professional advisers when determining a lawful method of Prize fulfillment.
Different lawful fulfillment methods may be used for Winners in different jurisdictions without changing their Competition scores or historical Competition rankings.
26.5 Counsel Does Not Represent the Winner
Counsel retained by MedaStaré represents MedaStaré and does not represent the Winner unless a separate written engagement expressly provides otherwise.
A Winner is not ordinarily required to retain or pay MedaStaré's counsel as a condition of Prize fulfillment. A Winner remains free to obtain independent legal, tax, financial or other professional advice at the Winner's own expense.
26.6 Jurisdiction-Specific Fulfillment
Subject to applicable law and these Rules, fulfillment may include direct payment to an eligible Winner, direct payment to a retailer or service provider, physical or electronic delivery, retailer or provider credit, gift card or voucher, direct travel or accommodation booking, direct purchase of goods or services, lawful tax withholding followed by payment of the remainder, or another lawful fulfillment mechanism.
26.7 No Unlawful Fulfillment
Nothing in these Rules requires MedaStaré to make a payment, shipment, booking, transfer or other Prize delivery that would violate applicable law.
If the originally contemplated method is prohibited or materially restricted, MedaStaré will first use commercially reasonable efforts to determine whether the same Prize can lawfully be fulfilled through another method.
If that is not reasonably possible, MedaStaré may provide a lawful substitute Prize of equal or greater stated value where permitted by applicable law and these Rules.
A substitution or alternative fulfillment method must not be used in bad faith merely to reduce or avoid a valid Prize obligation.
26.8 Local Restriction and Winner Status
A legal or practical restriction affecting Prize delivery does not automatically erase a Winner's Competition achievement.
Where permitted by applicable law, a Winner may retain Winner status, Competition rank, title, badge, placement history and other non-monetary recognition even where the originally stated Prize cannot lawfully be delivered.
26.9 No Lawful Fulfillment Available
If, after reasonable legal and compliance review, neither the original Prize nor a permitted substitute can lawfully or reasonably be delivered to the Verified Winner, the applicable Prize may be offered to the next-highest-ranked eligible Entrant in accordance with the published ranking and these Rules.
No replacement Prize Recipient will be selected randomly.
26.10 Winner Cooperation
A Potential Winner must reasonably cooperate with lawful verification and fulfillment requirements and may be required to provide information or documentation reasonably necessary to establish identity, age, residence, eligibility, tax status, lawful payment or delivery information, and compliance with jurisdiction-specific Prize requirements.
26.11 Prize Fulfillment Timing
After Winner verification is successfully completed, required Winner documentation has been received, applicable MedaStaré compliance review is completed, and any reasonably necessary local-counsel or jurisdiction-specific clearance is completed, MedaStaré will use commercially reasonable efforts to initiate or complete Prize fulfillment within the fulfillment period stated in these Rules.
A reasonable period required for jurisdiction-specific legal or regulatory review will not constitute a refusal to honor a valid Prize.
26.12 Mandatory Local Law
If this Prize-clearance framework conflicts with mandatory law applicable to a particular Winner, that mandatory law controls to the minimum extent necessary for that Winner and jurisdiction.
26.13 Fulfillment Record
MedaStaré may maintain an internal Prize-fulfillment record documenting, as appropriate, the Winner, Competition and Cycle ID, final rank, applicable jurisdiction, verification completion, material legal or compliance review, local-counsel clearance where obtained, tax documentation, original Prize, any lawful substitution, fulfillment method, fulfillment date, material delays, alternate Prize Recipient if any, and evidence of completion.
27. WINNER NOTIFICATION
Potential Winners will be contacted using the method stated in the applicable Cycle Annex, which may include in-app notification and/or the verified email associated with the account.
Potential Winners must respond within:
TEN (10) BUSINESS DAYS
unless applicable law or the Cycle Annex requires another period.
The notification itself does not complete Winner verification.
28. WINNER VERIFICATION
MedaStaré may reasonably require:
- government-issued identification;
- proof of age;
- proof of residence;
- Eligibility Confirmation or Affidavit;
- tax documentation;
- Liability Release;
- Publicity Release where lawful and separately required;
- Prize fulfillment information; and
- other documentation reasonably necessary to establish lawful eligibility or fulfillment.
MedaStaré should request only information reasonably connected to legitimate Competition, legal, tax, fraud, privacy or fulfillment purposes.
29. CURE PERIOD
Where reasonably practicable and permitted by law, a Potential Winner who does not complete required verification within the initial ten-business-day period may receive a final notice providing:
FIVE (5) ADDITIONAL BUSINESS DAYS
to cure the deficiency.
MedaStaré may omit or shorten a cure period where required by law, fraud is reasonably suspected, the Winner expressly refuses the Prize, or timing makes the cure impossible and the applicable Rules permit that result.
30. PRIZE FULFILLMENT PERIOD
After successful verification, receipt of required documentation, completion of applicable MedaStaré compliance review, and completion of any reasonably necessary jurisdiction-specific or local-counsel clearance, MedaStaré will use commercially reasonable efforts to initiate or complete Prize fulfillment within:
THIRTY (30) CALENDAR DAYS
unless the Prize itself reasonably requires a different timetable.
The period may reasonably be extended for:
- mandatory regulatory review;
- local counsel review;
- permits;
- tax processing;
- sanctions/compliance checks;
- banking/payment processing;
- supplier or retailer processing;
- travel booking;
- visa requirements;
- Winner-caused delay;
- force majeure; or
- circumstances reasonably outside MedaStaré's control.
Where practicable, an affected Winner will receive a status update.
31. UNAVAILABLE OR LEGALLY RESTRICTED PRIZE
If the originally stated Prize cannot lawfully or reasonably be delivered to a Verified Winner, MedaStaré may first determine whether a lawful fulfillment method or permitted equal-or-greater-value substitute is available.
If lawful fulfillment remains unavailable, the applicable Prize may be offered to the next-highest-ranked eligible Entrant.
No replacement recipient is selected randomly.
32. RANK PRESERVATION
Where permitted by law:
A Winner's historical Competition rank does not necessarily change merely because that Winner cannot receive a particular Prize.
Example:
A First-Place Winner may remain recorded as the First-Place Winner while an undeliverable Prize is offered to the next-highest-ranked eligible Entrant.
The public Winner record and the Prize fulfillment record may therefore differ.
This separation must be accurately documented.
33. TAXES
Each Winner is responsible for personal tax obligations imposed on that Winner except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.
MedaStaré may:
- request appropriate tax documentation;
- perform legally required reporting;
- withhold amounts where legally required; and
- delay fulfillment until required tax documentation is completed.
No fixed U.S. reporting threshold should be stated in these Master Rules unless confirmed against the law applicable to the relevant tax year.
Jurisdiction-specific tax notices may be provided separately.
34. CONTENT OWNERSHIP
Except for rights expressly granted in the applicable Entry Terms, an Entrant retains ownership of their original Entry content.
By submitting an Entry, the Entrant represents that they possess the rights necessary to submit and authorize the permitted uses of the Entry.
Entrants must not knowingly submit content that unlawfully infringes another person's:
- copyright;
- trademark;
- privacy;
- publicity;
- confidential information; or
- other protected rights.
Where recognizable third parties appear, the Entrant is responsible for obtaining legally required permissions.
35. CONTENT LICENCE
The precise Competition-content licence granted to MedaStaré must be stated in the Entry Terms and should define:
- permitted purposes;
- duration;
- territory;
- media;
- promotional use;
- Competition administration;
- Winner announcements;
- archival use; and
- sublicensing, if any.
The licence should not be broader than reasonably necessary without deliberate legal approval.
36. AI, EDITING AND MANIPULATION
Each Cycle Annex may establish permitted and prohibited editing practices.
MedaStaré may distinguish between:
- ordinary photography adjustments;
- permitted creative editing;
- disclosed AI-assisted creation;
- material alteration;
- deceptive manipulation; and
- prohibited synthetic or impersonation content.
A Competition must not disqualify an Entry under an undisclosed material editing rule where applicable consumer law requires prior disclosure.
37. FRAUD AND MANIPULATION
MedaStaré may investigate suspected:
- multiple-account abuse;
- identity fraud;
- automated Entry submission;
- plagiarism;
- coordinated manipulation;
- system interference;
- prohibited AI manipulation;
- falsified eligibility information;
- judging interference;
- collusion;
- unauthorized scripts/bots;
- tampering; or
- attempts to circumvent Entry limits.
MedaStaré may preserve evidence reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misconduct.
38. DISQUALIFICATION
An Entrant may be disqualified for a material violation of the Official Rules, subject to applicable law.
Where reasonably practicable, material automated integrity flags affecting Prize eligibility should receive human review before final disqualification.
Disqualification decisions should be documented.
MedaStaré may refer suspected unlawful conduct to appropriate authorities where reasonably necessary.
39. TECHNICAL FAILURES
MedaStaré is not responsible, to the maximum extent permitted by law, for technical failures outside its reasonable control including:
- internet interruption;
- device incompatibility;
- platform outage;
- corrupted transmission;
- incomplete upload;
- third-party service outage;
- network failure; or
- other external technical interruption.
However, MedaStaré may adopt reasonable remediation where a material failure in MedaStaré-controlled systems affects Competition integrity.
No Entrant is guaranteed uninterrupted access.
40. COMPETITION INTEGRITY EVENT
If fraud, technical failure, security incident, regulatory intervention, force majeure or another material event compromises the integrity or lawful operation of a Competition, MedaStaré may, where permitted by law:
- temporarily suspend Entry;
- extend a deadline;
- reopen an affected technical step;
- exclude demonstrably corrupted Entries;
- postpone judging;
- modify a prospective operational element; or
- cancel the affected Competition.
MedaStaré will not replace the published skill-based Winner mechanism with random Winner selection.
Material changes will be documented and communicated where required.
41. NO GUARANTEE OF CONTINUED COMPETITIONS
Participation in one StarDrop Cycle does not create a contractual right to:
- future StarDrop Cycles;
- continuation of a particular Prize;
- continuation of a particular jurisdiction;
- continuation of a particular judging criterion; or
- continuation of another MedArena Competition.
Future Cycles may have different lawful terms, provided changes are prospective and properly disclosed.
42. SUBSCRIPTION CHANGES
Cancellation, expiration, refund, chargeback or other change to a Star Membership may affect Competition eligibility where the applicable Rules expressly require active membership.
The precise effect must be disclosed before Entry and applied consistently.
MedaStaré must not invent a new retroactive membership requirement after Entry.
43. STAR GIFT SEPARATION
StarGift is separate from StarDrop.
StarGift activity does not affect:
- MedaVision score;
- qualification;
- Top 20 placement;
- judging;
- Winner ranking;
- Prize eligibility; or
- tie-breaking.
No creator or Entrant may purchase, solicit or receive a StarGift as a means of influencing Competition results.
44. PUBLIC VOTING AND SOCIAL METRICS
Unless a future separately structured Competition expressly and lawfully provides otherwise, StarDrop does not determine Winners through:
- likes;
- followers;
- shares;
- views;
- public voting;
- creator popularity; or
- external social-media engagement.
Social visibility is not judging merit.
45. PUBLICITY
Where permitted by applicable law, MedaStaré may announce Verified Winners and display Competition-related recognition consistent with the applicable Entry Terms.
Where separate consent is required, publicity authorization will be obtained separately.
Refusal of optional marketing consent must not invalidate a Winner where applicable law prohibits conditioning the Prize on that consent.
46. PRIVACY
Competition personal data will be handled under MedaStaré's applicable Privacy Policy and Competition privacy notices.
Data may be processed for legitimate Competition purposes including:
- Entry administration;
- eligibility;
- fraud prevention;
- judging;
- Winner verification;
- Prize fulfillment;
- legal compliance;
- tax compliance;
- audit; and
- dispute handling.
Jurisdiction-specific privacy requirements apply.
For Singapore, applicable PDPA obligations must be addressed before activation.
47. RECORDKEEPING AND AUDIT TRAIL
MedaStaré may maintain appropriate Competition records including:
- Rules versions;
- acceptance records;
- Entries;
- preliminary scores;
- integrity flags;
- human reviews;
- Top 20 records;
- judge scoring;
- recusals;
- tie-break records;
- final ranking;
- Winner notifications;
- verification documents;
- Prize substitutions;
- alternate Prize recipients; and
- fulfillment evidence.
Retention periods will follow applicable legal, regulatory, tax, privacy and operational requirements.
Records should not be retained indefinitely merely because they relate to a Competition.
48. APPLE
StarDrop is sponsored by MedaStaré Inc.
Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of StarDrop and is not involved in the administration, judging, selection of Winners or fulfillment of Prizes.
The applicable Official Rules must be accessible through the MedaStaré application as required.
49. GOOGLE AND OTHER PLATFORMS
Google and other distribution or social platforms are not sponsors of StarDrop unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement.
Nothing in these Rules creates an endorsement by such platforms.
50. THIRD-PARTY RETAILERS AND PRIZE PROVIDERS
A retailer, airline, hotel, supplier or other third party used to fulfill a Prize does not become a Sponsor merely by providing goods or services.
Third-party products and services may remain subject to their lawful independent terms.
MedaStaré is not authorized to waive a third party's mandatory legal or operational requirements.
51. TRAVEL PRIZES
Where a Prize includes travel, the applicable Annex must address relevant terms including:
- travel window;
- destination;
- booking method;
- passport requirements;
- visa responsibility;
- permitted companion terms;
- included expenses;
- excluded expenses;
- cancellation;
- substitutions; and
- restrictions.
A Winner's inability to satisfy lawful travel requirements may trigger the applicable Prize-substitution procedure.
52. PRIZE TRANSFER
Prizes are not transferable or assignable except where the applicable Rules expressly permit Sponsor-approved transfer or substitution.
A Winner may not sell a Prize entitlement before lawful fulfillment unless expressly permitted.
53. LIABILITY — SUBJECT TO MANDATORY LAW
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Entrants participate at their own ordinary risk and acknowledge that digital competitions may involve technical and third-party dependencies.
Nothing in these Rules excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Nothing waives mandatory consumer rights.
Any release, indemnity or limitation-of-liability language must be interpreted only to the extent enforceable in the Entrant's jurisdiction.
54. NO WAIVER
Failure by MedaStaré to enforce a provision in one instance does not automatically waive its right to enforce that provision in another instance.
Any waiver must be lawful and appropriately authorized.
55. SEVERABILITY
If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable in a particular jurisdiction, it may be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary where permitted by law.
The remaining provisions continue to operate to the extent legally possible.
Invalidity in one jurisdiction does not automatically invalidate the Competition in every other Activated Jurisdiction.
56. LOCAL MANDATORY RIGHTS
These Rules do not eliminate rights that applicable law does not permit a consumer or Entrant to waive.
Where these Master Rules conflict with a mandatory jurisdiction-specific legal requirement, the mandatory requirement and applicable jurisdiction addendum control for that jurisdiction.
57. ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
For Competition matters, the following hierarchy applies unless mandatory law requires otherwise:
- 1. applicable mandatory law;
- 2. jurisdiction-specific Competition Addendum;
- 3. applicable Cycle Annex;
- 4. these Master Official Rules;
- 5. Entry Terms;
- 6. abbreviated promotional disclosures;
- 7. marketing copy.
Marketing materials do not silently amend the Competition mechanic.
58. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
Any governing-law, venue or dispute-resolution terms applicable to a particular Competition or jurisdiction will be stated in the applicable jurisdiction-specific addendum or Cycle Annex where required.
Nothing in these Rules waives a mandatory consumer, competition, privacy or procedural right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Where mandatory local law applies, it controls to the extent required by that law.
59. OFFICIAL RESULTS
MedaStaré may publish an Official Winner List after verification.
Where appropriate, the list may distinguish:
- Competition rank;
- Verified Winner status;
- Prize fulfillment status; and
- lawful alternate Prize recipient.
Publication will remain subject to applicable privacy and publicity requirements.
60. NO ENTITLEMENT FROM ERROR
A display, notification, preliminary ranking or technical message generated in error does not automatically create Winner or Prize entitlement where the person did not actually satisfy the published Competition requirements.
However, MedaStaré will investigate material errors fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
61. COMMUNICATION FRAUD
MedaStaré may identify official Winner-notification channels in advance.
Entrants should not be required to pay a separate “release fee,” “processing fee” or similar fee to claim a legitimate StarDrop Prize unless a charge is expressly lawful, disclosed and permitted by the Official Rules.
MedaStaré may publish anti-impersonation guidance to protect Entrants from fake Winner communications.
62. MATERIAL MISREPRESENTATION
Knowingly providing materially false information concerning identity, residence, age, Entry ownership or eligibility may result in disqualification where permitted by law.
An innocent clerical error should not automatically be treated as fraud where it can reasonably be corrected without compromising Competition integrity.
63. RULE CHANGES
MedaStaré may correct non-material typographical, technical or administrative errors.
A material change affecting eligibility, judging, Prize rights or Competition mechanics should be prospective unless applicable law permits and fairness requires another approach.
Material revisions receive a new Rules version where appropriate.
Completed Competition results will not ordinarily be rewritten through later Rules versions.
64. VERSION ARCHIVE
MedaStaré should maintain an archive of prior Rules versions.
A prior version should be marked:
SUPERSEDED — NOT APPLICABLE TO NEW ENTRIES
rather than silently deleted where retention is appropriate.
The Rules accepted by an Entrant should remain identifiable.
65. THREE-MONTH ADVANCE DOCUMENTATION STANDARD
For MedaStaré's two additional planned MedArena Competition formats, the applicable legal documentation and intended jurisdiction framework will be prepared and made available no later than three (3) months before the planned launch, subject to final counsel or regulatory amendments.
If a required jurisdictional approval remains incomplete at launch, that jurisdiction remains inactive.
Other lawfully activated jurisdictions may proceed independently.
66. REGIONAL ACTIVATION CONTROL
MedaStaré may technically restrict Entry according to the applicable jurisdiction matrix.
The application may display:
“StarDrop is not currently available in your jurisdiction.”
where the Competition has not been activated.
Access to general MedArena content does not override this restriction.
Users must not intentionally circumvent geographic eligibility restrictions through false residence information or other deceptive means.
67. COMPETITION-SPECIFIC HUMAN REVIEW
Where an automated decision materially affects progression or Prize eligibility and the applicable Competition procedure provides for human review, MedaStaré may maintain a documented review channel.
Human review does not guarantee reversal.
Its purpose is to determine whether the published Competition criteria were applied appropriately.
68. FAIRNESS AND CONSISTENCY
Material Competition criteria should be applied consistently to similarly situated Entrants.
MedaStaré may correct a demonstrable scoring or administrative error.
A correction made to preserve the integrity of the published criteria is not itself an unauthorized change to the Competition.
